    RECOMMENDATIONS
Installation of Fiberglass Mesh Tape should be consistent with methods described in the noted standards and references and as indicated below.
Fiberglass Mesh Tape should not be used with Drying-type (Ready-Mix) joint compounds.
Fiberglass Mesh Tape should not be used with veneer plaster systems.
    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
In cold weather (outside temperature below 50°F [10°C]), temperatures within the building should be maintained at a minimum 50°F [10°C], both day and night, during joint finishing. Adequate ventilation should be provided to eliminate excess moisture. Wet/damp conditions slow the drying process.
FIBERGLASS MESH TAPE TREATMENT WITH SETTING TYPE JOINT COMPOUNDS
Center Fiberglass Mesh Tape over the joint and press tape firmly to ensure proper bond. Cut with drywall knife. Cover tape with a layer of setting-type joint compound 4″-6″ wide. Force compound through the tape with drywall knife/trowel to completely fill and level the joint. Let dry and sand lightly as required. Apply second coat of settingtype or drying-type joint compound, feathering approximately two inches beyond first coat. Let dry and sand lightly as required.
Ceiling and wall angles are treated by folding the Fiberglass Mesh Tape to fit the angles, and adhering tape along one side of the joint. Press mesh tape tightly into corner, and then press onto other side of joint, working down the length of the joint. Apply layer of setting- type joint compound to one side of joint, then the other. Apply second coat of setting-type or drying-type joint compound, feathering approximately two inches beyond first coat. Let dry and sand lightly as required.
The specified or desired finished characteristics are the responsibility of the architect or contractor. Gypsum Association GA-214, Recommended Specification for Levels of Gypsum Board Finish, should be referred to in order to determine the level of finishing needed to assure a surface properly prepared to accept the desired decoration.
    DECORATION
Before paint, wall covering or other decorating materials are applied, all areas must be thoroughly dry, dust-free and treated with a coat of good quality, high solids, flat latex primer.
The selection of a paint to give the specified or desired finished characteristics is the responsibility of the architect or contractor.
